Toni Perez

Toni Perez is a Medical Doctor, specialist in Intensive Care, and has a diploma of Pharmaceutical Industry Medicine, all from the Universidad Autónoma. Barcelona, Spain and a General Management Program from IESE, Business School. He has more than 20 year experience in pharmaceuticals, and held several managerial positions in Basel, Switzerland at Novartis (Head of Clinical Research of Infectious Diseases) and in a Roche´s spin-off company, Basilea Pharmaceutica (Head of Clinical Research of Anti-Infectives); in Barcelona, Spain, he has worked in Almirall (Therapeutic Area Head of Clinical Research in Oncology, Gastrointestinal Track and Central Nervous System) and Esteve (Medical Director, Member of the Scientific Committee, Portfolio Board, and Board of Directors. Member of International Joint Steering and Joint Development Committees. Head of the whole Medical Area: Clinical Research, Medical-Marketing, Data Management, Biostatistics and Pharmacovigilance departments).

He has been leader or member of several Boards and Steering committees and worldwide Product-, Project-, Marketing teams, and he had cross-functional activities or responsibilities with Marketing, Business Development, Finances, Regulatory Affairs, and Research. His activities and projects have been carried out in all five continents, from Phase I to IV; he met or submitted documents to several Regulatory Agencies (e.g. FDA, EMEA, all those from the European Community and Swiss-Medic). Within drug research and development, he has contributed to the local, multinational, and/or worldwide development, registration, launch and marketing of a broad panel of drugs in several therapeutic areas, among them: infectious diseases, oncology, central nervous system, and gastro-intestinal and urinary tracts.

He has published 35 papers and wrote some chapters in medical books, he has more than 70 abstracts and presentations in international and national congresses and he has been an invited speaker in congresses, meetings and postgraduate courses.

As a Senior Consultant, now relocated in Switzerland, he works/has been worked with Novartis, Biogen Idec, Elan, Pharmamar, Kenta, Actelion, etc).
