TFS completes Phase I Study for Active Biotech

The first clinical study of Active Biotech Research AB's medicinal candidate 57-57, against SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), has been completed, with a positive result. The Phase I Study incorporated 30 healthy volunteers and was performed in collaboration with TFS Trial Form Support's Phase I Unit at the Karolinska University Hospital.

This First In Man study was well designed with a single dose escalation part followed by multiple dose escalation. This study clearly shows the capacity and the competence at TFS Trial Form Support's Phase I unit. It is obvious that the collaboration between TFS Trial Form Support and Karolinska Research Center combines best practice from the industry and Academia, states the responsible at TFS Trial Form Support AB, Stockholm Sweden.

The result reveals that 57-57 is tolerated superbly in all of the tested dose-levels, single and repeated doses equally, and that the substance is appropriate to be given as an oral, daily treatment, states Active Biotech Research AB, Lund, Sweden.
